The Project

The Department of Excellence (DdE) project intends to seize the opportunity to consolidate and further develop the research in fundamental physics of the Department of Physics (DF), which is based on new technologies and digital transformation, also in new directions.

We have identified some frontier methodologies and technologies that unite in a single approach distinct research interests present in the DF. In particular, the project will be developed in the following four specific fields of intervention, in highly topical research areas, with strong reciprocal interconnections and clear effects also on teaching:

● High Performance Computing – Big Data – Machine Learning (HPC-BD-ML)

● Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Advanced Electronics and Sensors (LEA)

● Quantum Science and Technology (STQ)

● Physics of Complex Systems (FSC)
