Optimal Imaging and Tomography
Research Strand:
X-rays have been used to reveal reveal the inside of opaque objects since their discovery, more than 125 years ago. In the last few decades, many advanced imaging modalities have been introduced to push the limits of what can be seen with X-rays. The Optimal Imaging and Tomography group is developing some of the new methods set to change the X-ray imaging landscape, in particular ptychography and speckle-based imaging. These methods share the characteristic of relying on advanced image reconstruction techniques that allow for flexible experimental conditions. The imaging techniques have multiple applications, from biological to medical to materials sciences.
