Gravitational Wave Open Data Workshop in Trieste

The LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA detectors form a network that has so far detected hundreds of these signals. The recorded data are published on the Gravitational Wave Open Science Center website (https://gwosc.org) and are accessible to everyone.
Every year, the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaboration organizes a workshop that combines online seminars (in English) with in-person hands-on sessions, where experts guide participants in analyzing real detector data using Python tutorials. Participants will learn how to find in the data signals from binary systems of black holes and neutron stars.
This year, the online seminars will take place from May 12 to May 14, and registration is available at https://learn.gwosc.org/. The seminar times vary each year to accommodate different time zones. This year, they will begin in the late afternoon for us, but recordings will be available immediately afterward.
One of the Study Hubs, where the hands-on sessions are held, will be organized here in Trieste at the Department of Physics. You can register at the following link: https://forms.gle/fv8mB8LRHFzR86zg9.
