"Recent Developments in the Weak Gravity Conjecture"
Dr. Alessandro Mininno
University of Wisconsin-Madison
This talk will explore recent progress in understanding the Weak Gravity Conjecture (WGC) within the Swampland Program. I will begin by revisiting the original motivations for the WGC and its extensions inspired by string theory compactifications. I will then discuss the formulation of the Minimal Weak Gravity Conjecture, motivated by F-/M-theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau threefolds, and its implications. Finally, I will examine the WGC in AdS space, particularly in the context of extremal Reissner-Nordström black hole decay.
