After a short introduction on the Higgs boson phenomenology, the seminar will retrace the years of the discovery at CERN by ATLAS and CMS, showing how the world of particle physics changed after this historical event. The seminar will then show the new experimental directions opened by the Higgs boson and how the most important and urgent problems of the Standard Model can be explored thanks to the  study of the Higgs boson properties.
