Seminar @ DF-AS - P. Ventura - Dust from AGB stars
Event typology:
home
Campus:
Trieste
Stars evolving through the Asymptotic Giant Branch are generally regarded as important contributors to the overall dust production in the Universe. The latest generation of AGB models includes the description of the formation and growth of dust grains in the wind, thus allowing the determination of the dust yields from this class of objects. In this contribution we will discuss how dust production is sensitive to the mass and the metallicity of the stars and present some applications of these results to the interpretation of infrared observations of the evolved stellar populations of galaxies.
