After a ten-year interplanetary journey, the ESA Rosetta spacecraft has performed the most detailed observations of one of the oldest building blocks of our Solar System, comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.

The main results of these unique observations will be presented to the scientific community of the Trieste area in the form of three special seminars given by Kathrin Altwegg and Fabrizio Capaccioni, two leading scientists of the Rosetta mission. The first two seminars will be delivered on October 12, 14:30, at the Kastler Lecture Hall of the ICTP Adriatico Guesthouse (Via Grignano 9, Trieste). The third seminar is scheduled on October 13, 11:30, at the Trieste Astronomical Observatory-INAF (Via Bazzoni 2, Trieste).  

In the evening of October 12, a conference on the Rosetta mission oriented to the general public will be held at Museo Revoltella (Via Diaz 27, Trieste). The public speaches will be delivered by Fabrizio Capaccioni and Marco Fulle, a scientist of INAF-Trieste Astronomical Observatory also involved in the Rosetta mission. The conference will be chaired by the scientific journalist Fabio Pagan and will be held in Italian. 

The special seminars are organized by INAF-Trieste Astronomical Observatory in collaboration with the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, the Italian Astrobiology Society, and the Science Centre Immaginario Scientifico. The public conference is organized in collaboration with the City of Trieste. All these events are scheduled in the framework of the International Year of Light.
