The BSc degree gives graduates access to a career in the following sector-specific fields: technological applications in industry, research in laboratories of physics and applied physics; radioprotection, telecommunications, remote equipment control, research management in public and private centres, analysis of complex problems and physical, mathematical, computer-based modelling. The preparation given can also lead to a variety of equally stimulating careers in other sectors. The degree course in Physics aims at equipping graduates with:

sound knowledge of basic classical and modern physics (theoretical and experimental);
sound knowledge of mathematical techniques;
sound practical knowledge of computing and information technology;
skills in scientific research, the construction of theoretical models and their observation through experiments;
skills in the use of laboratory techniques and equipment;
introduction to at least one sector related to telecommunications, nanotechnologies, equipment for fundamental and applied research, space technologies, biomedical equipment, environmental physics and the spreading of scientific culture;
written and spoken knowledge of at least one European Union language other than Italian, for general conversations and sector-specific usage;
good communication and information management skills;
skills to be able to work independently and to adapt rapidly to work environments;
notions for postgraduate study in physics or in other sectors where physics plays an important role.
