The Scientific Degree Plan (PLS) is a project involving high school students and schools, born from an agreement between the Ministry of Education, University and Research, Confindustria (Italian Federation of Industry), and the National Conference of Deans of Faculties of Science and Technology.

The objectives are to spread scientific culture, encourage young people to study scientific subjects, and improve career guidance through initiatives that offer the opportunity to experience firsthand what it means to "do science."

The planned actions fall into six macro-types:

1. Enrollment guidance, promoting gender balance
2. Reduction of dropout rates
3. Training, support, and monitoring of tutor activities
4. Laboratory for teaching basic sciences
5. Educational self-assessment activities
6. Teacher training
