Advanced Technology and Instrumentation

Research Area:

Advanced Technology and Instrumentation provide mirrors, cameras, spectrographs, radiometers, and all instruments for ground based telescopes and astronomical satellites that collect the data astronomers use to analyze astrophysical processes and test theories. In particular, the Department of Trieste is involved in Space Science experiments, encompassing studies on the Earth as a planet, on the Sun as a star and a source of energy, and on fundamental problems of the genesis and evolution of the Universe at large. The main research topics of our group are "Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation: PLANCK Experiment", "EUCLID, the Dark Universe Mission" and "Space Weather Effects: AtmoCube Experiment".
