The BSc thesis work by Francesco Veronesi leads to a paper on the European Journal of Physics

The results obtained by Francesco Veronesi in his thesis on “Stochastic resonance and sound perception: a model of human hearing” which he defended on March 19th 2021, have been published on the European Journal of Physics (https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1361-6404/ac4431, also available as preprint https://arxiv.org/abs/2201.05462).
The paper’s title is "A toy model for the auditory system that exploits stochastic resonance”, and it describes in detail a straightforward model of human hearing. It is based on stochastic resonance, a phenomenon due to noise in non-linear dynamical systems. Both the specific topic and the methods used are important to understand the mechanism of human hearing.
